SC811 by-laws require a reconstitution of the Board of Directors every three years. The election process takes place at the fourth quarter board meeting during an election year. Directors serve a three-year term with meetings held quarterly. A board member is required to attend at least 50% of the board meetings, per year, in order to retain their seat. Board members are also assigned to committees and must be available to participate in those meetings as well. SC811 board members are not paid for their services, but their input is highly valued by SC811 for the continued effort of underground damage prevention.

If your company, or association, wishes to submit a nomination to serve on the next SC811 Board of Directors, your recommendation submittal must be provided to SC811 no later than September 30, 2022. Board Policy 1020 requires that “to be considered for a Board seat and/or office, the proposed candidate (member company) must be in ‘Good Standing’ as defined in the by-laws ‘Definition’”. Please see the official letter of Notice of Reconstitution and a sample nomination letter below for additional information.
